Aged and Community Care Training

We offer a series of training packages for staff working in aged and community care.

The training incorporates the latest information on diabetes, addresses key topics and points participants the various services and programs that are available to their clients.

There are three modules on offer.

Module 1 – Lifestyle

This module includes:

  • overview of Diabetes WA and the NDSS
  • diabetes facts and figures
  • explanation of diabetes
  • types of diabetes
  • signs and symptoms
  • nutrition and physical activity
  • stress.

Module 2 – Medications and insulin

This module includes:

  • overview of Diabetes WA and the NDSS
  • diabetes facts and figures
  • explanation of diabetes
  • types of diabetes
  • signs and symptoms
  • blood glucose monitoring
  • medications and insulin update.

Module 3 – Acute complication management

This module includes:

  • overview of Diabetes WA and the NDSS
  • diabetes facts and figures
  • explanation of diabetes
  • types of diabetes
  • signs and symptoms
  • blood glucose monitoring
  • complications of diabetes
  • screening of complications.
Time required

Training packages can include one or all modules in one day. The time required will depend on how many modules you wish to cover. A rough estimate is as follows:

  • one module – 3.5 hours (a half day)
  • two modules – 4.5 hours
  • three modules – 6 hours.
Costs

Training packages can include one or all modules. Discounts are available for multiple modules.

Package prices are as follows:

  • one module – $1000
  • two modules – $1350
  • three modules – $2000.
