Walking Away from Diabetes is a free interactive group education program for people who are at risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
Walking Away gives you the chance to:
- discuss your thoughts and feelings around your level of risk
- develop a better understanding of type 2 diabetes and blood glucose
- understand how your current level of risk is affecting your long-term health
- learn what factors contribute to your level of risk
- learn how physical activity and healthy eating can lower your risk.

The Diabetes Education and Self Management for Ongoing and Newly Diagnosed (DESMOND) workshop is a one day or two half-day education course designed to support people living with type 2 diabetes.
We have teamed up with your local service, Boab Health to deliver this workshop in Broome.

Are you not ready yet to attend a workshop but want to learn more about diabetes? This information session is for people with type 2 diabetes, carers, people at risk of diabetes and those who just want to learn more about type 2 diabetes.
Presented by a credentialled diabetes educator, the info session covers how diabetes works, the risk factors for developing type 2 diabetes and how you can make small changes to prevent or manage type 2 diabetes.
You will also find out what NDSS registrants are entitled to receive, and what local health services are available in your area.
