Diabetes Reseach and Information Update Evening
Diabetes Research and Information Update Evening is an event for parents and young people who are living type 1 with diabetes. This
evening will focus on technology and physical activity. Featuring presentations from the Diabetes Research Team at Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) as well as visiting guests and researchers.
The program includes:
- Key note speakers include Gavin Griffith, UK ultra-marathon runner with type 1 diabetes and founder of DiAthlete, and Dr Martin De Bock, Paediatric Endocrinologist and researcher.
- Presentations by clinicians and researchers from the Diabetes Department at PMH.
- An opportunity for parents and young people to meet with peers.
Date: Tuesday, 14 March 2017.
Time: Registration and canapes from 6.15pm. Presentations from 7.00pm – 8.30pm.
Venue: McCusker Auditorium, Harry Perkins Institute, 6 Verdun Street, Nedlands.
Parking: Carpark available near the venue.
Cost: Free – RSVP required for catering purposes.

8:00pm – 8:10pm Professor Elizabeth Davis, Head of Diabetes, PMH – Update on Perth Children’s Hospital and schools.
8:10pm – 8:30pm Panel discussion questions and answers with Professor Tim Jones, Head of Department Diabetes and Endocrinology PMH, Dr Martin De Bock, Paediatric Endocrinologist PMH, Gavin Griffiths, Fran Delos Santos, Clinical Nurse Consultant Department Diabetes and Endocrinology PMH.
