Diabetes WA’s DESMOND team last week travelled to Taipei, Taiwan for the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) 11th Western Pacific Congress and 8th Scientific Meeting of the Asian Association for the Study of Diabetes.
Hosted by the Chinese Taipei Diabetes Association and the Taiwanese Association of Diabetes Educators, the congress centred on ‘creating a new dimension in diabetes: prevention, protection and care’.
Deb Schofield, General Manager of Health Services at Diabetes WA presented two abstracts to the congress. The first abstract, DESMOND: Does it deliver for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People, was presented as a poster and the second abstract, Fidelity: The missing dimension in structured diabetes education around the globe, was selected as an oral presentation.
