Diabetes WA has been supporting the WA diabetes community for 53 years, and our range of services is constantly evolving to match and exceed community expectations. After listening to the views of over a thousand members of that community this year, the organisation is set to launch a new marketing campaign to remind people living with diabetes that we are here to help them.

Launching alongside World Diabetes Day on Wednesday 14th November 2018, the campaign is called “if you’ve got it, we get it” because Diabetes WA understands that every person living with diabetes is unique. In addition to our free workshops and resources, we provide a range of individualised services including a diabetes helpline 1300 001 880, where people can speak directly to a credentialled diabetes educator.

Western Australians living with diabetes may see and hear the new campaign across these channels:
• On social media, namely Facebook and Youtube
• As they listen to music on radio stations such as 94.5, or on audio streaming platforms such as Spotify
• In print, in The West Australian and Have a Go News

Helen Plange, General Manager for Communications and Marketing at Diabetes WA, said the campaign was an important step in the evolution of the organisation.

“Our free services have been proven to help people to live well with diabetes, and we have the ability to reach every one of the 126,000 Western Australians living with the condition. By raising awareness about the support we can provide, we can help more people to reduce their risk of diabetes complications, and at the same time reduce the burden on the healthcare system,” Helen said.
