There are a number of guidelines, policies and position statements that deal with best practice in diabetes care and management. We have compiled some of the more prominent ones for your reference.

WA Framework for Action on Diabetes and Diabetes Service Standards 2014

This document is a shared vision around improving the services and support for those at risk of or living with diabetes. It outlines how key organisation must work together to support people with diabetes in self-managing their condition and to reduce the risk of others developing the condition. General practice management of type 2 diabetes 2014-15

General practitioners continue to provide most of the medical support to people with type 2 diabetes. This guide plays an important role in providing a readable summary of current guidelines and recommendations from various sources on the management of type 2 diabetes in the general practice setting. Prevention, identification and management of foot complications in diabetes

The purpose of this guideline is to inform a broad range of health professionals and healthcare workers of best practice to prevent, identify and manage foot complications in adults with type 1 or 2 diabetes. Secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease in type 2 diabetes

This guideline addresses the management of adults with type 2 diabetes, in relation to the prevention of recurrence of cardiovascular events. The focus is on individuals already known to have symptomatic cardiovascular disease. This is a particularly high risk population, and therefore merits careful attention in clinical practice.
